The Nature of Crystals
Manmade crystals are perfectly symmetrical and uniform, much like processed bread or assembly-line computer chips. Crystals, bread, and computer chips each carry a vibration as well as a material form. Although their beauty is wonderful to behold, crystals most often used in Intuitive Feng Shui are powerful and important more because of what is carried in them—the invisible part—rather than what they look like. Certainly it is important that clear glass balls like those found on a chandelier be flawless, shiny intensifiers of light and chi, pleasing to look at and enjoy. But success in using these objects has more to do with visualization when they are used than with their size, shape, or appearance.
In nature, crystals occur in infinite variety, like snowflakes or leaves. No two examples are alike. Naturally occurring crystal is ideally used in Intuitive Feng Shui because no two situations that call for the use of a crystal are alike.
Another important reason these crystals are so powerful is that their geometry aligns with the magnetic fields of the earth. Aware that we are placing a divine object more than 100 million years old helps us relate to the infinite much more easily than when working with a 30 mm glass crystal from a mail-order company or the local jeweler. Glass crystals have become quite common; nature crystals will remain unique eternally.
The use of crystals has a long, honorable history; they have been employed for sacred purposes by most of the world’s religions. Native Americans, Buddhist monks, and shamanic healers have used crystals, as have their counterparts in the Judeo-Christian traditions. Crystals carry the energy of possibility, a key component of Intuitive Feng Shui practice.
Crystals worn as jewelry affect the vibrational field around the body. When they are worn constantly, they create a certain energy and charge. With wise use, you may learn to tap into the subtle yet profound healing qualities they possess. Without knowing what effect a particular piece of jewelry may be having, however, you may be creating a subtle imbalance with a necklace or bracelet you rarely remove. Experiment with crystal jewelry, and see if you can notice how the energy of one piece may “charge” you while another may drain your energy.
Clear Quartz The use of clear quartz crystal can bring a greater clarity to mind and body. It is most beneficial in cases where general physical healing is needed, when occupants have low energy, or when a project or effort needs a particular boost. It can be used in any area of the bagua. Choose examples with the fewest scratches or least wear, preferably with perfect points. Those containing small “imperfections” that reveal refraction of light and cause a rainbow effect are especially potent.
Rose Quartz Rose quartz crystal is perfect to promote harmony in relationships, heal old emotional wounds, overcome anger, and bring a general state of calm into a space where relationships are of particular importance. They are especially helpful in the house of Earth.
